Buyer’s answer: Moisture is a formulation and packaging variable. Dry and moisture-adjusted concepts need their own sensory, microbiological and stability assessment.
Define what is being controlled
A casual dry or moist label is not enough for production. Agree the relevant measurement, acceptable range and sample handling. Humectant identity and amount should be recorded along with the rest of the formulation.
Review the complete pack
Pouch material, closure, liner and packaging barrier can affect how the product changes during storage. Do not assume that a dry concept automatically has a longer shelf life or that adding moisture guarantees faster delivery. Those statements need relevant evidence.
Evaluate changes systematically
If pouch feel changes after storage, investigate the formulation, package and conditions together. Compare against the approved reference and keep a documented decision. A fresh sensory approval does not replace a stability program.
What to put in the project record
| Decision | Project specification |
|---|---|
| Product identity | Dry vs moisture-adjusted caffeine pouch development |
| Approved reference | Formula revision, sample, packaging drawing and artwork, as applicable. |
| Evidence to request | The specification, relevant test records and market review supporting the decision. |
| Next discussion | Confirm remaining assumptions, responsibilities and acceptance criteria before production. |
