Buyer’s answer: Milligrams per pouch, milligrams per gram and milligrams of botanical extract describe different quantities. A caffeine pouch label and specification should make the intended unit unambiguous.

Name the measured quantity

A per-pouch target describes the caffeine in one finished unit. A concentration describes caffeine relative to product mass. Extract mass describes an ingredient quantity. Mixing these terms can cause an apparently comparable product to have a different caffeine amount from the one the buyer intended.

Account for every source

Guarana, green coffee and other caffeinated ingredients may contribute to the total. Ask for the relevant assay on the supplied lot, rather than relying on a generic percentage found online. The finished-product test plan should address total caffeine from the complete formula.

Keep the specification and artwork aligned

The approved target, tolerance, sample plan and reporting units should be traceable to the label wording. When a formulation or fill weight changes, revisit the calculation and analytical plan before reusing the old strength statement. A product photograph is not proof of a measured content.

Questions to take to your supplier

What should a buyer confirm first?

Milligrams per pouch, milligrams per gram and milligrams of botanical extract describe different quantities. A caffeine pouch label and specification should make the intended unit unambiguous.

Where can we discuss this for our own product?

Send the formula direction, caffeine target, destination market, packaging and quantities through the project enquiry form. Production starts at 3,000 cans per SKU and 9,000 cans per order.
