Buyer’s answer: Sample evaluation works best when the team agrees what to compare and records the outcome against a known revision.
Start with sample identity
Record formula code, caffeine target, flavor reference, pouch format, can and sample date. Do not mix feedback from different revisions under one product name. A clear identity makes a later sensory comment actionable.
Use a consistent comparison
Assess appearance, pouch feel, aroma, cooling, sweetness and aftertaste using the same approach for each sample. Keep packaging fit and artwork review visible as separate checks. Analytical data and personal taste answer different questions.
Close the feedback loop
Summarize what is approved, what needs revision and what still needs testing. Keep the approved reference for production review. If the brief changes after approval, record the new scope rather than silently treating it as the same sample.
What to put in the project record
| Decision | Project specification |
|---|---|
| Product identity | Caffeine pouch samples |
| Approved reference | Formula revision, sample, packaging drawing and artwork, as applicable. |
| Evidence to request | The specification, relevant test records and market review supporting the decision. |
| Next discussion | Confirm remaining assumptions, responsibilities and acceptance criteria before production. |
