Buyer’s answer: A test plan should explain what is sampled, what is measured and how the result is judged. Total caffeine and unit-to-unit consistency are related but different questions.

Define the sampling level

Clarify whether the sample represents raw material, blend, multiple pouches or individual finished units. A blended average alone may not answer a question about variation between individual pouches. Agree the required evidence with the laboratory and quality team.

Agree the method and units

The method must be appropriate for the matrix and intended decision. Keep extraction, reporting units and acceptance criteria in the approved record. Botanical ingredients and flavor systems can introduce matrix considerations that need review.

Plan the investigation path

Before release, agree how results near a limit or outside specification will be handled. Record the decision rule and investigation responsibilities. Repeating a test without a defined reason should not replace understanding the original result.

What to put in the project record

Decision Project specification
Product identity Caffeine pouch assay and uniformity
Approved reference Formula revision, sample, packaging drawing and artwork, as applicable.
Evidence to request The specification, relevant test records and market review supporting the decision.
Next discussion Confirm remaining assumptions, responsibilities and acceptance criteria before production.

Questions to take to your supplier

What should a buyer confirm first?

A test plan should explain what is sampled, what is measured and how the result is judged. Total caffeine and unit-to-unit consistency are related but different questions.

Where can we discuss this for our own product?

Send the formula direction, caffeine target, destination market, packaging and quantities through the project enquiry form. Production starts at 3,000 cans per SKU and 9,000 cans per order.
